KERRY’S early second-half penalty changed the complexion of yesterday’s Munster SFC first round opener, according to Tipperary manager John Evans.

The Kerry native was left to rue what he felt was a harsh decision as Bryan Sheehan dispatched it to push Kerry into a commanding 1-9 to 0-5 lead but was annoyed when Barry Grogan’s 60th minute effort was ruled out for a square ball infringement.

“Just talking to the local lads they said it was a legitimate goal,” he said. “It looked good. But my biggest concern was the penalty. There were three guys standing around him and there was absolutely no foul, no play of the ball.
