A busy and mixed day for McBrearty

DONEGAL teenager Patrick McBrearty had a bittersweet afternoon at Ballybofey yesterday when he lined out for both his county’s minor and senior championship sides against Antrim in the same day.

The 17-year-old Kilcar forward follows in the footsteps of Down’s Benny Coulter, who achieved the feat 11 years ago.

McBrearty, a student at Carrick Vocational School, started at full-forward for Charlie Mulgrew’s minor team and scored 1-3 in their disappointing 2-9 to 1-7 defeat to Antrim.
