THE GAA last night explained a walk-up crowd of approximately 10,000 was the reason for patrons arriving late to yesterday’s Allianz Hurling League Division 1 final.

Several supporters were seen coming into the Upper Cusack Stand up to 20 minutes into the game following reports of long queues outside the GAA’s ticket office inLower Dorset Street.

“There was a massive walk-up crowd.” said GAA communications manager Alan Milton, who also stated there was nothing wrong with the ticketing system.
