Picture set to become clearer

THE league is all about knowing where you stand.

It’s one thing to think you can beat the top sides or proclaim it in panel meetings. Going out and doing it is another thing. Confidence comes from doing. Beating a top-three side generates the kind of unspoken belief in a team that no manager or sports psychologist can instil. Obviously, beating these top sides in championship requires another step up but beating them in the league is where you have to start.

In a league final, both teams will know they are capable. If the final itself was never to be played, both teams would be satisfied that they are in a good position going into the summer.
