Beware, warns Mortimer, as capital hype grows

IF Dublin lose Sunday’s Allianz Football League Division 1 final it mightn’t be a bad thing, according to Mayo footballer Conor Mortimer.

The corner-forward, who lost finals to Donegal in 2007 and last year to Cork, feels a defeat in Croke Park could turn out to be a blessing in disguise for Pat Gilroy’s side.

“Losing a league final isn’t the worst thing in the world, especially this year,” said Mortimer.
