Dub defeat fuels Jordan’s return to Tyrone panel

A DEEP sense of disappointment at Tyrone’s All-Ireland quarter-final defeat to Dublin convinced four-time All Star defender Philip Jordan to continue his inter-county football into this season.

Hampered by hip and groin problems and a double hernia operation in the last five years, the Moy man had considered hanging up his boots from what has been an illustrious career.

But after the significance of the one-point reversal against Dublin set in, Jordan, 31 next month, didn’t need much persuading to make himself available to Mickey Harte for a ninth season.
