Coulter: review criteria to separate sides

THE GAA’s manner of separating teams who finish on the same amount of points in the Allianz Leagues by their head-to-head record has been called into question by two of Gaelic games’ top players.

Down’s All Star footballer Benny Coulter and Dublin hurling goalkeeper Gary Maguire both have vested interests in the differential criteria as they hope to keep their Division 1 final prospects alive going into their penultimate round ties in Croke Park this Saturday.

Coulter’s Down and Maguire’s Dublin are in third position in their respective top flights with Coulter aiming to heap a first league defeat on Pat Gilroy’s Blues.
