Rebels sweating on fitness of O’Neill and Kelly

CORK attacker Colm O’Neill will undergo a second scan on his knee next week in an effort to ascertain the injury he sustained in Sunday’s Division 1 league tie against Galway.

O’Neill underwent a first scan yesterday morning in the Whitfield Clinic in Waterford and was seen by renowned surgeon Tadhg O’Sullivan. The results of that scan were unclear and that will necessitate a second scan next week.

There had been fears that the attacker had damaged his cruciate ligament after he was forced off in the 14th minute of the Pearse Stadium clash when he landed awkwardly on the ground.
