Smaller Congress could work wonders, says Duffy
Duffy has queried the number of delegates that attend Congress and wonders if it is proving an effective forum to properly debate motions.
“The size of Congress is some difficulty. It’s 350 people together for what is essentially a one-day Congress. I would question the size and wonder is there a case for reducing the numbers. I think we’d need to extend it by a day at least and you’d have to reduce the numbers that are there. I think it’s probably too big (Congress gathering) and it doesn’t give the opportunity on the whole to discuss policy issues.
