Connors to delay ankle surgery

WATERFORD defender Noel Connors plans to delay undergoing surgery on an ankle problem.

Connors to delay ankle surgery

Connors first picked up the injury two years ago and suffered a recurrence in training last week which ruled him out of last Saturday night’s Allianz National Hurling League tie against Tipperary.

But a desire to avoid a spell on the sidelines has swayed him against getting an operation and he is hopeful of figuring in next Sunday’s game with Cork in the Fraher Field.

Cork captain Shane O’Neill is still on course to line out before the end of the county’s league hurling campaign as he continues to recover from an ankle operation.

O’Neill has not featured for the county since last August’s All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Kilkenny and has yet to lead the county into battle having been appointed as captain in January.
