GAA director of finance Tom Ryan has warned counties they are not doing enough to curb spending on their inter-county teams.

Ryan yesterday reported the association’s finances are in a ‘stable’ position with revenue down from €68m in 2009 to €57m last year following the end of the FAI and IRFU’s rental of Croke Park.

However, he told county boards they no longer have the capability to spend exorbitant amounts of money in preparing their teams.
