His sudden departure to these shores follows video of a man purported to be Nixon in underpants on the bed of the 17-year-old girl at the centre of a naked pictures controversy involving St Kilda players. Nixon, who has persuaded a number of high profile young GAA talents to sign for AFL clubs in recent years, denies having sex with the girl or supplying her with alcohol or drugs. However he has admitted to ‘inappropriate dealings’ with the teenager.
She claims they had a sexual relationship for three to four weeks and has photos of him in her hotel room in his underpants as well as the video which she gave to television stations.
Referring to allegations about a relationship between the pair, Victoria Police said: “As Mr Nixon is party to these claims police will seek to interview him at some stage.”
It is understood that they were made aware of his plans to come to Ireland on a pre-planned business trip. Nixon is being investigated by the AFL chiefs and may face de-registration by the board on the basis of possible breaches of the agents’ code of conduct, which requires agents to act legally and in the best interests of clients.
Agents must act professionally and ‘with due care and skill and with honesty and integrity towards each player’ they represent.
