Red zone concerns

THEIR accuracy from distance was evident once again on Saturday night as they racked up another impressive tally of points – but it’s the continuing lack of goals from All-Ireland champions Cork that will be of greatest concern to Conor Counihan.
Red zone concerns

Amazingly, since the Rebels lost a Munster semi-final replay last June to Kerry at Páirc Ui Chaoimh, Pearse O’Neill is the only Cork player to score a goal from open play. He achieved that twice, making it two goals in eight competitive matches for the All-Ireland champions.

Cork have drawn goal blanks against Wexford and Limerick in 2010 Qualifier games, netted a penalty in the All-Ireland semi-final against Dublin, and have failed to find the net in the last three competitive outings – against Down in the All-Ireland final and against Kerry and Dublin in this season’s league.
