Galvin may not line out for DIT

KERRY manager Jack O’Connor is not expecting Paul Galvin to line out for DIT in their Sigerson Cup opener against University of Limerick tomorrow.

There had been reports the 31-year-old may have recovered from a hip injury in time to line out for the Dublin college.

However, speaking to the Kerry GAA website yesterday, O’Connor said: “We have several panellists involved in Sigerson Cup games this week: Jonathan Lyne, Brian Maguire, Peter Crowley, Anthony Maher, David Moran, Barry John Walsh, Gary O’Driscoll and Daithí Casey.

“We hope all of these players come through these games unscathed.”

O’Connor will name his team for Sunday’s Allianz Division 1 trip away to Mayo tomorrow evening in which Eoin Brosnan is in line to make his first appearance for Kerry since June 2009.

Meanwhile, referee Martin Sludden will on Sunday return to inter-county competition action for the first time since last July’s infamous Leinster SFC final.
