Tyrone ready for Erne men
The game at the Enniskillen venue is one of three rescheduled ties after the cold weather caused havoc with the Ulster Council’s efforts to run off their pre-season action this month. Success for the Red Hands will see them two points clear of Donegal atop Section A and they would then only require a point from Saturday’s tie against UUJ to make the last four. Fermanagh can still reach the knockout stages with wins tonight and Saturday against Donegal.
The top spots in the other two sections have been confirmed with Section B winners Derry set to face the leading side in Section C, Antrim, in the first semi-final on Saturday night in Celtic Park. But two of the other four sides in action tonight are still in the hunt for semi-final places for the best runner-up from the three sections. In Section B Monaghan host Cavan, (Inniskeen, 7.30pm). While the Farney men have no chance of qualifying, Val Andrew’s side need the two points to be back in the hunt. In Section C, Armagh host St Mary’s (Athletic Grounds, 7.30pm). An Armagh win would give them a chance of reaching the semi-finals.
