Griffin targets latter half of NFL for return

KERRY defender Tommy Griffin is targeting the latter half of the National League to return to action as he recovers from a serious ankle injury incurred last August.

The 32-year-old Dingle man was advised to undergo extensive surgery on the joint, which the surgeon explained would see a ligament replaced with a tendon.

Ultimately, Griffin will have to get his ankle reconstructed for the second time in his career but has held off to play another season with the Kingdom.
