KERRY chairman Jerome Conway has hit out those calling for the introduction of an open draw in the All-Ireland senior championships.

He warned of the serious consequences such a move would have for funding received by county boards by provincial councils.

Conway revealed Kerry received over €1.2m in grants from the Munster Council in 2010 and believes county boards would find it impossible to source similar levels of income if the provincial championships were abolished.
