Cusack saddened by Ó hAilpín cull

CORK hurling goalkeeper Donal Óg Cusack has ruled out a player revolt after Seán Óg Ó hAilpín’s axing from the Rebels’ squad.

Manager Denis Walsh’s surprising decision to cut Ó hAilpín from the Cork squad drew a strong reaction on Leeside and further afield, and Cusack yesterday described Ó hAilpín as an inspiration.

“Seán Óg Ó hAilpín was a very good friend of mine, an inspiration not just to me but to a lot of people in Cork and all over the country. I’m just very sad over it.
