Ó Sé hoping tradition continues

THE man synonymous with commentating on the All-Ireland minor finals in Irish hopes the tradition continues when TV3 replaces RTÉ as broadcaster of the deciders next season.

Ó Sé hoping tradition continues

Michéal Ó Sé said last night: “Of course I would hope that they (TV3) would continue to carry the games in Irish. A lot of Gaeltacht of people would feel to same way.

“At one time there was a clause that 50% of GAA output on RTE would be in Irish but apart from the minor finals and the Oireachtas finals I don’t think that it was every acted on.

“It (the Irish language broadcast) has always been the tradition and it is a tradition that I hope will continue.”

TV3 have not confirmed whether or not they plan to continue to carry the showpiece events as gaeilge.
