Fitzgerald deal for single year

WATERFORD GAA chiefs have confirmed that Davy Fitzgerald received a new one-year term at the head of the county’s senior hurlers as was reported in yesterday’s Irish Examiner.

Fitzgerald deal for single year

A number of other media outlets claimed yesterday the Clare native had been given a deal for the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

However Déise officials last night re-iterated that the agreement only incorporates next year’s league and championship.

Treasurer Michael Hogan confirmed: “Following our meeting on Monday night David Fitzgerald was returned as Waterford senior hurling manager for one year and one year only.”
