Counihan ponders future

CONOR COUNIHAN will make a decision on his future as Cork manager over the next month and has urged the long-serving members of his All-Ireland winning squad to also take time to consider their futures.

Counihan ponders future

Counihan’s three-year term as boss officially concluded after Sunday’s final success over Down but Cork GAA officials will keep with tradition and offer the Aghada man another stint in charge after guiding the county to All-Ireland glory.

The management issue is likely to come up for discussion at the next meeting of the Cork county board on October 5th after tomorrow night’s planned meeting was postponed due to the All-Ireland celebrations that will continue in Bantry, home of captain Graham Canty.
