Lehane to the rescue for Midleton

A LATE point by Conor Lehane earned Midleton a deserved draw, 0-19 to 2-13, with Glen Rovers in a keenly contested Evening Echo Cork SHC quarter-final at Páirc Ui Chaoimh yesterday.

There was no separating the teams throughout the 60 minutes, the sides level 11 times, and the outcome was one no-one in the crowd of 4,064 would quibble with, although the Glen might argue they should have won it as Patrick Horgan missed two long range frees in injury-time, striking both inches wide.

Cork attacker Horgan produced another superb display, contributing 2-8 – 2-2 from play – to add to his phenomenal scoring record in this year’s championship.
