Mount Sion in quarter-finals

Goals by Ian Galgey and Martin O’Neill nullified Dungarvan’s flying start and helped the winners lead 2-7 to 0-11 at the interval. The sides traded points throughout an exciting second half and the accuracy of Ken McGrath and Stephen Roche ensured Mount Sion ran out deserving winners against a game opposition that battled to the end.

In the second game at Walsh Park titleholders Ballygunner were pushed all the way by an Abbeyside outfit playing only for pride, with the Gunners having five points to spare at the finish (2-13 to 0-14).
