Daly and selectors re-appointed for another two years in Dublin
There had been speculation over Daly's future in the wake of Dublin's shock All-Ireland qualifier defeat to Antrim in July and that he would not complete the final year of the three-year term he was handed when appointed for the 2009 championship.
But Daly met with Dublin county board officials in recent weeks and agreed to stay on until the end of the 2012 campaign.
While the senior squad endured a frustrating year, Dublin's underage teams saw further success this season with the U21's claiming Leinster honours and the minors reaching an All-Ireland semi-final.
Daly's selection team of Ciarán Hetherton (Craobh Chiaráin), Richie Stakelum (Kilmacud Crokes) and Vincent Teehan (Ballyboden/St. Enda’s) have also been re-appointed.
Meanwhile Dublin full-back Rory O’Carroll will miss the entire NFL campaign next year due to study commitments in France and believes it would be impractical to return to Ireland on a weekly basis for games.
O’Carroll is set to move to the French city of Orleans in the coming weeks as part of his third-level studies in UCD and will not return until May.
He has already informed Pat Gilroy of his plans and will consult with the Dublin boss upon his return to see whether he will link up with the county panel for the 2011 championship campaign.
“I’m doing French in college so I’m going out for seven months and am back in early May/late April.
