GPA backs plans to raise Hill 16 fences

The barriers, which will be two metres higher than the current ones, will be installed between the two All-Ireland football semi-finals and represent the GAA’s latest attempt to end pitch invasions.

The GPA said they’re more than happy to back the initiative as they’ve been flooded with complaints in recent years from players who were struck by supporters during post-match invasions, many of which began with fans streaming out from the Hill.
