Misfiring Cork have no shot, says Byrne

FORMER Kilkenny captain Denis Byrne has written off Cork’s chances of causing an upset in Sunday’s All-Ireland SHC semi-final at Croke Park.

Byrne, an All-Star in 2000, insists that Cork do not have the firepower to trouble the Cats: “I wasn’t very impressed with Cork in the Munster final. I thought they were very poor but having said that, the form book for Cork and Kilkenny games goes out the window. It’s very hard to see where Cork will get the scores to beat Kilkenny.

“If Kilkenny hit form they should win but Cork will throw everything they have at them,” he said.
