This will be my last year, declares Déise star Dan

WATERFORD legend Dan Shanahan admits this is likely to be his last year with the Déise senior hurlers.

The Lismore clubman said yesterday of his winning goal for Waterford against Cork in the Munster SHC final replay that “it was great to finish off like that”.

Asked if it was his last Munster hurling final, he said: “It probably will be. It’s great to finish off like that. It gets harder and harder to come back, it’s a young man’s game.
