LIMERICK boss Mickey Ned O’Sullivan slammed the standards of intercounty refereeing after Saturday’s heartbreaking qualifier loss to Cork at the Gaelic Grounds.

With the game less than five minutes old, Limerick midfielder John Galvin appeared to be fouled by Cork counterpart Aidan Walsh, but referee Pádraig Hughes instead awarded a free out to the Rebels.

And while insisting that Cork deserved victory, O’Sullivan said that the performance of Hughes had left “a sour taste in the mouth.”
