ROSCOMMON manager Fergal O’Donnell said that his men needed to sweep the boards yesterday and he did not fancy their chances if it went to a replay.

The man who has done more for Roscommon football in the past decade — skippering them to their last Connacht final success nine years ago before guiding their minors to a first All-Ireland in over half a century in 2006 — usually calls it as he sees it.

And if Sligo managed to get a late draw yesterday, O’Donnell reckoned that would be enough for them to regroup and take the crown.
