The Royals snatched victory with a Joe Sheridan goal which handed them a 1-10 to 1-12 win. Replays showed the goal should have been disallowed as the ball was thrown over the goal-line.

Boylesports, Paddy Power and Ladbrokes last night announced plans to pay out on a win for backers of both teams. Boylesports spokesman Leon Blanche said: “It will be a costly move, approaching a six-figure sum.”
