Limerick delusions continue

WHAT to say here? In the first instance, I have to agree, emphatically, with Offaly manager Joe Dooley on the suspension imposed on Daniel Currams.

Limerick delusions continue

He has already missed one game (plus the half game he missed after his harsh red card in the drawn game against Galway), is missing this game and will also miss Offaly’s next All-Ireland qualifier (no, I'm not jumping the gun, yes, Offaly will be there – Limerick will not win this).

Had Croke Park not interfered, the likelihood is that a fairer game-based suspension system would have been passed at Congress this year, and this would have been avoided.

Too late for Currams and Offaly, though it won't make any difference this weekend. The Limerick delusions continue – I read they were encouraged after their senior B team took the Cork intermediate B team to the wire a few weeks ago, read also that Justin McCarthy believes this current senior team will be competitive in a few years. Right, and the Irish cricket team will be world champions. The misery of this season can’t end soon enough for Limerick hurling supporters – this is the day.

Verdict: Offaly
