‘Brawl’ clubs sweat on decision

BRIDE Rovers and Glen Rovers are set to discover their fate over the next 24 hours when the Cork county board issue the findings of their investigation into the mass brawl which marred last Sunday week’s senior hurling championship meeting between the clubs.

‘Brawl’ clubs sweat on decision

The CCC of the board under the chairmanship of county board vice-chairman Bob Ryan met on Tuesday and are now set to inform both clubs of their decision.

It is not expected that the nuclear decision of expulsions from the championship will be taken, but suspensions and fines issued by the disciplinary body do look inevitable for both clubs. The fourth round draws for the county championships were due to take place last Tuesday night but were delayed due to the investigation into the brawl and will now take place next Tuesday night in the Rochestown Park Hotel at 7.30pm.
