Midfield general Galvin rallies the troops for Limerick cause
The county’s hurling side has been riven by strife in the past 12 months and they crashed out of the Munster championship by 13 points against Cork recently. After a 114-year gap since their last provincial senior football triumph, Galvin reckons next Sunday would be a timely boost for Limerick.
“The hurling difficulties I wouldn’t be concerned about. But I do think Limerick GAA in general needs a boost. There are lots of sports competing in Limerick, and Limerick getting to a Munster final has lifted the profile of Limerick GAA again. Winning it now would be fantastic and the boost that we need. Moral victories are great but they’re worth absolutely nothing. I’d have accepted them years ago when I was younger but not any more. I want to win something now.”
