Cavan ready to rule Leinster

LOUTH’S presence may add an air of romance to next month’s Leinster SFC final but it is their opponents who will provide the novelty factor in tonight’s provincial junior decider in Drogheda.

Cavan have played in the Leinster competition for the last three years but lost at the first hurdle to Dublin in 2008, and again to Louth last season, before negotiating their way into this year’s decider.

They aren’t the only Ulster side to currently feature outside their native province at this grade and in this code. Fermanagh have been also accommodated, by Connacht, in recent times.
