AFTER the thrilling performance that generated a seismic victory over Tipperary three weeks ago, yesterday in Páirc Uí Chaoimh represented a different experience for the Cork hurlers.

There were extenuating circumstances as it was a tricky situation preparing to face off against a Limerick side filled with unknown quantities but manager Denis Walsh was still unsatisfied afterwards with his team’s performance.

“Overall, the performance wasn’t great. We played in fits and starts and we played as individuals, which is a complete contrast to the Tipperary game. There were a couple of outstanding individual performances by Sean Óg and Niall McCarthy.
