Kerry dig out a draw: the question is how?

BODHRÁNS and bikers provided the soundtrack to the Bank Holiday weekend in Kerry, but the grating noise of another opportunity lost was the over-riding, over-bearing backdrop for Cork as they retreated from Killarney last night.

Kerry dig out a draw: the question is how?

This Kerry hex is playing havoc with Conor Counihan’s players. Credit to Jack O’Connor’s crew, the All-Ireland champions again managed to squeeze every half-drop from their efforts in yesterday’s Munster SFC semi-final, but it shouldn’t have been enough. Not nearly enough.

“On the day I thought we got no breaks in any shape or form,” winced Jack O’Connor afterwards. “We tackled, turned over ball and it seemed to fall into Cork hands. They were far hungrier than us and sharper around the breaks in the middle third of the field and that was the key thing.”
