Tallow aiming to upset odds as Mount Sion begin title bid
Fraher Field hosts a double header with Mount Sion facing the emerging Tallow followed by the meeting of the 2007 champions Ballyduff Upper and the ‘08 winners, De La Salle.
With Ken McGrath and Tony Browne to the fore, Mount Sion will fancy their chances this weekend as they go in search of record 36th title.
However Tallow with county players Aidan Kearney, Mark O’Brien, James Murray, and Tomas Ryan in their ranks, will be confident of an upset.
The Ballyduff Upper/De La Salle game is an intriguing prospect. John Mullane, Kevin Moran, Brian Phelan, and Stephen Daniels backbone a De La Salle outfit that could be the chief challengers to Ballygunner’s title.
Ballyduff, meanwhile, will look to county stars Stephen Molumphy and Adrian Power to cause an upset tomorrow.
In the remaining two games Lismore, powered by Dan and Maurice Shanahan, should be too strong for Jamie Nagle’s Dungarvan competing in the top flight for the first time in 15 years while Passage, led by Eoin Kelly along with Noel and Tommy Connors should overcome Ballyduff Lower at Walsh Park.
