Gordon unlikely to start for Down

DOWN midfielder Dan Gordon is unlikely to start Sunday’s NFL Division 2 decider against Armagh despite the former captain having returned to the squad last week after taking a break from inter-county football this spring.

Gordon unlikely to start for Down

Down boss James McCartan is likely to stick with the regular midfield duo this spring Kalum King and Ambrose Rodgers, while attacker Benny Coulter is their biggest injury doubt after damaging ribs recently.

Opponents Armagh will have Ronan Clarke, Barry Shannon and Charlie Vernon back amongst their ranks after the trio were absent when the sides met in their league meeting in Newry in March. Meanwhile Antrim boss Liam Bradley is unlikely to risk St Gall’s attacker Kevin Niblock for their NFL Division 3 final against Sligo on Saturday night.
