Mayo await Higgins scan
Higgins, inspirational at corner-back in Mayo’s charge for a league final place, limped out in the 44th minute of Sunday’s encounter.
Manager John O’Mahony yesterday expressed hopes Higgins has not suffered serious damage. “He’s going for a scan at 10.30am and we’ll know more after that,” said O’Mahony. “He has some damage done to his knee but at this stage we’re just hoping that it’s not too serious.”
Higgins is now a doubt for their pivotal clash with Cork in Páirc Uí Chaoimh on April 11.
Ronan McGarrity, Aidan Kilcoyne and Barry Moran could be set for a return for the clash against Cork, however.
For their part Conor Counihan’s Cork side will have Donncha O’Connor available after suspension but captain Graham Canty could come back into the frame. Youngsters Colm O’Neill (hamstring) and Aidan Walsh (hip) are concerns.
