Loreto show battling qualities to book final spot

Trailing by five points to the reigning Munster champions after Megan O’Connell pounced for an early goal, Loreto’s win came courtesy of ten minute spells either side of half-time when they scored 1-5 without reply with full forward Eva Hicks in devastating form. The Kerry side looked in command in the early stages, particularly in midfield where Sinead Sheehan and Laura O’Sullivan dominated while Bronagh O’Sullivan was again outstanding at centre-back. However, goals from the Tyrone duo of Hicks and Terry McGarvey had the sides level (1-6 to 2-3) at the break. O’Connell had Coláiste’s second goal at the three quarters stage but back came Loreto again as McGarvey, along with Teri McCusker and Hicks all registered points to see them into their first final.
