GAA PRESIDENT Christy Cooney says he’ll support the retention of the Interprovincial series, if the players want it.

County boards are currently being appraised about the exact costs that go into staging the hurling and football competitions each year.

A decision about the future of the competition, formerly known as the Railway Cup, will ultimately be taken at the march Central Council meeting. “I said already, if the players wanted it, I would support it,” said Cooney.
