Sweeney still in Dublin plans
Sweeney, half-forward in the quarter-final defeat to Limerick last year, has yet to commit to the inter-county scene for 2010 and is the only player from last year’s panel who has not figured in Dublin’s early season preparations.
Daly remains hopeful that the player will feature this year. “He’s going on three weeks holidays to New Zealand and we’ll see what he wants to do when he’s back. If he wants to commit when he comes back, we’ll have a look at him.”
Dublin face a Walsh Cup semi-final against Wexford on Sunday. Daly is likely to be without seven players due to college commitments as the Fitzgibbon Cup kicks off Thursday. David O’Callaghan, Oisin Gough, Joey Boland and Liam Rushe are involved with UCD who face CIT. David Treacy, Tomas Brady and Paul Ryan are involved with DIT against NUIG.
