Croker reward for fair play

THE GAA has launched a major campaign to improve discipline and respect on and off the pitch at all levels, part of which will see those counties with the best disciplinary records in the upcoming National Leagues receive a financial reward.

Croker reward for fair play

The ‘Respect Initiative’ will target all stakeholders involved on match days including coaches, players, referees, clubs, spectators and parents and president Christy Cooney has described it as “the most important initiative” that he will introduce during his time in office.

The idea was piloted at U-12 level in four counties last year and will be rolled out gradually over the course of the next five years up to 2015 when it will be applicable at senior level and will be accompanied by any necessary rule changes.
