Further snag for Galway floodlight plan

GALWAY’S hopes of finally getting the go-ahead for floodlights at Pearse Stadium have received another set-back with Galway City Council demanding more information before making a decision on planning permission.

The three-year campaign to install floodlights at the Salthill venue could drag on for most of 2010 as Galway County Board will have six months to provide the information required by the local authority.

Galway City Council were due to make a decision this weekend but a spokesperson confirmed that further information was now required.
