Speaking at the GAA Games Development Conference in Croke Park on Saturday, the GAA president declared the major issue of concern for clubs nationwide is the provision of an uninterrupted programme of games for all players.

However many at grassroots level believe that county managers chasing provincial and All-Ireland glory are forcing boards to postpone or cancel domestic fixtures in an effort to attain their goals. Cooney insisted this attitude must change urgently.
