Meyler favourite for post as Kerry boss Carroll quits

KERRY hurling manager Mossie Carroll has stepped down from the post.

The former Limerick hurler, who replaced Pat Heffernan, had a mixed season with an injury ravaged Kingdom losing their NHL Division Two status before bowing out of the competition to eventual champions Carlow in the Christy Ring Cup semi-final.

County Board chairman Jerome Conway revealed that Carroll, who is based in Cork, had found his commute ‘excessive and wearing’
