Tipp lead GPA nominations for Team of Year

THE nominees for the 2009 Opel GPA Hurling Team of the Year mirror the Vodafone All Stars with more nominations from losing All-Ireland finalists Tipperary than four-in-a-row kingpins Kilkenny.

Three players are up for the Hurler of the Year award – Tommy Walsh (Kilkenny), Lar Corbett (Tipp) and John Mullane (Waterford).

The shortlists were drawn up by a selection committee headed up by chairman Donal O’Grady. GPA members select the winners.
