Corkery aiming to celebrate on double

IN THE Ladies game, she’s the equivalent of Tyrone star Brian Dooher or Kerry’s Paul Galvin, a footballer of immense talent, and in common parlance, blessed ‘with a great engine.’

But, incredibly, Briege Corkery is a dual star, earning the same respect and meriting the same admiration in camogie. She makes light of her commitments explaining: “When you are doing it the whole time — during the summer and over the last couple of years — you are well used to it. When you are training Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays you are switching anyway.

“Apart from training hard during the year my job helps as well. I’m working outdoors on a building site and that would keep you a lot more fit.
