Hanley: Kernan success not a given

GALWAY full-back Finian Hanley has warned that Joe Kernan’s arrival will not guarantee success for Galway’s footballers next season.

The Armagh man was ratified late last week and Galway GAA supporters will be hoping that he fares better than the county’s last high-profile managerial appointment, former hurling boss Ger Loughnane in 2006.

“There’s no guarantee in football,” said Hanley prior to Newstalk’s Off the Ball roadshow in Dublin last night.
