Tipp club Lorrha/Dorrha refuse to play semi-final

NORTH TIPPERARY club Lorrha/Dorrha are refusing to fulfil Sunday’s Seamus O’Riain Cup semi-final due to the unavailability of key players and the inability of opponents Kildangan to accommodate their request to change the timing of the game.

The match has been fixed for Nenagh at 2pm and is of critical importance as the winners will gain re-entry into the Tipperary Co SHC at the last 16 stage.

“It’s a very frustrating situation for us”, revealed Lorrha/Dorrha selector Colm Kennedy. “We have outlined for the last three months that three of our key players will be unavailable for this date due to a family wedding in Spain on Saturday evening. Those three players are Tipperary senior Patrick Maher, Tipperary U21 Kevin Maher, and Kevin’s brother Willie.
